Paul Seixas won Il Lombardia on October 10. That is the last WorldTour podium of the season — Enric Mas second, Giulio Ciccone third. The Tour of Guangxi starts October 13, three days later, and closes the 36-race calendar on October 18. Per Brujulabike.com, Juan Ayuso, Tom Pidcock and Kevin Vauquelin are among the favourites for that final event. Pidcock's name carries a footnote: per IDLprocycling.com, his WorldTour status in 2027 may hinge on whether Picnic PostNL retains its licence — that team's financial conditions remain unresolved, per Velora Cycling. Separately, CyclingUpToDate.com reports that Seixas's Lombardia win moved him closer to Isaac del Toro in the riders ranking, with Tadej Pogaçar still at the top. Guangxi is a stage race, a different matchup from Lombardia, and the riders who contested a monument five days ago now face five more days.
